Astrid Kohlmeier is a lawyer and expert in Legal Design Thinking & Legal Tech. For over 15 years, she has combined the disciplines of law and design and advises in-house legal departments, law firms and legal tech firms. Awarded as "woman in legal tech 2018" in September, she develops user-centric solutions and legal services with a focus on digital transformation. Before working as a freelance consultant, she spent 10 years in charge of Marketing & Communications at a subsidiary of Munich Re, a litigation finance company. She studied law and media design.

In addition to her work as a consultant, Astrid Kohlmeier is co-founder of the organization "Liquid Legal Institute e.V.". The Institute is a non-commercial global think tank for all relevant actors of the legal ecosystem. The aim is to jointly create new and sustainable solutions for the legal field, e.g. global technical standards, contract simplification and better solutions for the issue of access to law. To promote interdisciplinarity, the Institute uses methods of design thinking to master the challenges of legal transformation together with its members.
